All Souls

Let Us Remember our Beloved Who Have Died

On Friday we celebrate the Commemoration of All the Faithful Departed, commonly known as All Souls Day. It is the day we remember our beloved who have died. Every year you and thousands of friends send me loved ones’ names to be included in our special week of All Souls Masses. You name grandparents, parents, uncles, aunts, friends, and even children who are deeply missed.

You pray for them, knowing that your prayers engage the help of the many Saints who desire all to see Heaven’s glory. I encourage you to especially seek the intercession of Our Mother of Perpetual Help in your prayers for your dearly departed. She who held the body of Jesus in her arms and grieved at his burial can understand the loss and sorrow you feel at the death of your loved ones.

Ask Mary to pray with you to obtain peace and joy with her in heaven for your beloved dead! Join all Redemptorists throughout the world as we pray for and remember all our friends, family members and benefactors who have died in the Lord.

“It is a holy and wholesome thought to pray for the dead.”
(2 Maccabees 12:46)

Mother of Perpetual Help, lead us closer to Jesus!
