Our Lady of Guadalupe

Our Lady of Guadalupe, Intercede for Me!

Today you and I celebrate a great liturgical feast in Mary’s honor, under the title of Our Lady of Guadalupe. This commemoration reveals much to us of the important place Mary plays in our Christian life.

Our Lady of Guadalupe is a wonderful example of how Mary continues to bring the love and compassion of God into our lives. Millions of prayers are lifted up daily to Our Heavenly Mother, seeking intercession through her many glorifying titles.

Pope Francis has said, referring to Our Lady of Guadalupe, that Mary is the hope of the suffering:

“On that morning in December 1531…God awakened the hope of his son Juan, the hope of a People, the hope of the little ones, the suffering, those displaced or rejected, all who feel they have no worthy place in these lands. On that morning, God came close…”

Mary continues to come to the aid of her children in so many ways. She also touches lives through the icon of Our Mother of Perpetual Help. May you always experience the healing power of Mary’s motherly presence!
